• Senior Manager in Internal Audit for Aviva specializing in risk management and compliance. Collaborating with senior leaders and managing audits across the Canadian team.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Vice President, Internal Audit, collaborate as a key member of the Canadian Internal Audit team, to deliver audits included in the annual risk-based plan.
• Contribute to annual planning and support reporting to executives and the Audit Committee.
• Develop and deliver an audit opinion on internal controls through completion of the audit process.
• This includes planning (risk assessment, scoping, objective setting), fieldwork, reporting and follow up.
• Apply your audit experience and data analytics skills to improve how we work and engage with the business.
• Take ownership of your development and mentor colleagues to support team growth.
• Drive wider Internal Audit initiatives and projects.
• Produce clear, timely, and high-quality reports.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience; professional qualifications preferred.
• Audit, risk, accounting or actuarial qualifications or equivalent business experience.
• 8+ years of experience in internal audit or risk management, ideally in insurance or with a Big Four firm.
• Strong knowledge of financial, risk, and insurance topics.
• Experience leading projects and teams and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong business insight and an understanding of the critical business issues facing insurance companies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with data analytics and innovative audit practices.
