About the role
- Manufacturing/Quality Engineer at Avid ensuring product excellence and operational efficiency. Collaborating with design, manufacturing, and suppliers with focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Partner with design and development teams to ensure manufacturability and quality requirements are met.
- Develop and validate manufacturing processes, work instructions, and quality plans for new products.
- Support pilot builds and production ramp-up activities.
- Investigate and resolve field and manufacturing quality issues using root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, FMEA).
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence of issues.
- Monitor product performance and reliability metrics, driving improvements where needed.
- Identify opportunities to reduce defects, improve yield, and optimize production efficiency.
- Lead projects focused on process improvement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Create / revise process documentation.
- Act as a technical liaison between engineering, product management, & suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering within a production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Experience in complex electromechanical assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, SPC).
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Proficient in MS office products (Word, Excel).
- Power BI is a plus.
