Quality Engineering Technician apprenticeship at BMW Group's engine manufacturing facility. Engage in technical training and practical placements over four years to achieve a degree.
Responsibilities
Your training covers the study of state-of-the-art automotive production technology, including Electrical Control, PLC systems & Robots automation, Integrated Process Planning, IT & Data base system, Quality Control and Production Validation.
Experience different aspects of engineering and production technology including: hand-skills, machining, fluid power, electronics, robotics, and control systems.
Participate in competency-based training while working on site and start your degree program with the foundation degree in year one and finish a full degree by the end of the apprenticeship.
Complete a broad spectrum of placements throughout the business including: manufacturing analysis, engine performance testing, supplier liaison / problem solving, Siemens PLC with automation, and robotic facilities.
Collaborate with the Quality Engineering team ensuring that the technology within the business is state-of-the-art and maintains its optimal efficiencies.
Requirements
A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at level 5/C (or above) including Maths and English.
A minimum of 2 A levels grade C or above both in a mathematical based subject and a Science, Technology, Engineering related subject or a BTEC Level 3 in a relevant Engineering or Technology discipline.
A confident and inquisitive nature is essential – we actively encourage our apprentices to question our processes, not only to support your learning but to also allow for process improvements to be identified.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is an eager willingness to learn new processes, methods, and technologies.
Team working, ability to work without close supervision, quality focus, good communication skills, enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to take on responsibility and show accountability for your work.
