About the role

  • Accountant managing finance operations as a strategic partner to the Australian leadership team. Overseeing month-end, budgeting, and financial reporting within Sydney Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Close month-end management accounts for your assigned group in line with governance frameworks and timelines, ensuring financial accuracy, completeness, and variance analysis
  • Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with Australian accounting laws and regulations
  • Liaise with external accountants to ensure smooth month-end, year-end, tax, and FBT submission processes
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and execution
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records
  • Work closely with delivery teams to monitor project status, ensure correct revenue recognition, and timely customer invoicing
  • Maintain the subscriptions database to support accurate revenue recognition
  • Collaborate with different departments to provide finance support and guidance
  • Review purchase invoices and staff expenses in the ERP system
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize financial workflows
  • Support the Group Finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior finance team members
  • Contribute to other business-related projects as needed

Requirements

  • CA / CPA / CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent), with 2–3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience in Australia
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and manage expectations across multiple internal stakeholders, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide constructive challenges while maintaining a broader commercial perspective
  • Able to work to tight timescales with minimal supervision
  • Team-oriented and interested in working in an international environment
  • Strong technical accounting and reporting capability, including hands-on experience with general ledger activities and month-end close processes
  • Proficiency in Dynamics 365 is a plus
