About the role

  • Medical Science Liaison Manager responsible for building expert relationships in Amyloidosis for AstraZeneca. Focus on developing local medical activities and participating in scientific projects.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, establish and cultivate external experts, speakers and medical-scientific centers as well as hospitals
  • Support the development and implementation of a local medical activities plan
  • Be recognized as an internal and external expert in the field and continuously uphold scientific and medical standards
  • Design, initiate and execute regional and supra-regional scientific projects, including continuing medical education events
  • Participate in international, national and regional congresses and actively contribute to the planning and delivery of symposia
  • Support internal and external study projects
  • Develop scientific presentation materials and deploy them strategically
  • Plan and implement internal and external training programs
  • Collaborate proactively across functions (e.g., Medical Affairs, Sales and Marketing) as part of cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • A completed degree in a scientific, pharmaceutical or medical field and strong medical-scientific expertise
  • 3–5 years of experience in medical-scientific field roles (MSL, Sales, KAM, CRA) or internal roles within a highly specialized medical area — experience in Neurology, Cardiology and Rare Diseases preferred
  • Ability to quickly and independently familiarize yourself with new indications and topics
  • Enthusiasm and initial experience in actively shaping projects and collaborating in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor complex information to the needs of the target audience
  • High level of teamwork and collaboration skills combined with strong independence and personal flexibility in the role
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities and a strong results orientation
  • Very good MS Office skills and fluent German and English language skills
