About the role
- Backend Engineer developing data processing systems for a high-performance E-Commerce ecosystem. Focusing on Postgres, API architecture, and modern backend technologies in Stuttgart with a hybrid setup.
Responsibilities
- You own the core of our data processing and transform complex industry data into a stable, modular system
- Your focus is on designing and optimizing high-performance database structures and SQL queries that effortlessly handle very large transaction volumes
- You develop (micro-)services (Node.js/Python) that scale with our customers and ensure maximum stability through clean API design and automated tests
- You evaluate new technologies such as Rust to take the efficiency of our services to the next level
Requirements
- Postgres expert: deep knowledge of relational databases, query optimization, and schema design
- Backend expertise: solid experience with Node.js/TypeScript and/or Python
- API architect: proven experience designing RESTful APIs following headless principles
- Modern DevOps: confident working with Docker and ideally experienced with container orchestration (Kubernetes/Swarm)
- Languages: fluent English for working with the tech stack and German for team communication
- Experience with cloud-native tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Rust or a willingness to learn it with us
- Industry experience in automotive or e‑commerce (e.g. TecAlliance standards) is a plus
