About the role

  • Senior Operations Engineer supporting NASA's Artemis Program for flight vehicle recovery and processing. Developing processes and coordinating operations for the Orion spacecraft with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support operations oversight and programmatic operations for Artemis II and beyond flight vehicles
  • Develop infrastructure, equipment, and processes for integration, ground processing, and recovery of Orion spacecraft
  • Provide operational plans, schedules, and coordination with stakeholders for successful implementation
  • Support both Pre and Post Landing & Recovery Training events requiring travel
  • Facilitate technical meetings and manage cost, schedule, and technical considerations

Requirements

  • PhD in Engineering or four years of related experience with specified skills
  • 15 years of relevant work experience
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective and clear communicator with technical issues presentation ability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for team environment collaboration
  • Flexibility to changing work demands and ability to multitask
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Preferred experience in launch vehicle systems/subsystems and operations
  • Knowledge of vehicle landing and recovery operations development
