Carbon Project Developer in charge of designing and implementing high-impact carbon offset projects. Joining a team to navigate the full project lifecycle while ensuring alignment with international standards.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of projects that generate high-integrity carbon offsets in strict accordance with international frameworks, such as Verra (VCS) and Gold Standard.
Evaluate the carbon sequestration or reduction potential of new concepts, conducting rigorous feasibility assessments for emerging project ideas.
Oversee the monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) processes to ensure the successful issuance of carbon credits.
Develop and maintain deep technical expertise in specialized areas, including Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), Water Stewardship, and Methane Emission Reduction/Avoidance.
Represent Anthesis at industry events, delivering presentations and fostering knowledge-sharing to position the firm at the forefront of the carbon market.
Gain a sophisticated understanding of how carbon finance serves as a catalyst for impactful, large-scale climate projects.
Master the technical, commercial, and regulatory complexities of setting up and operating global carbon assets.
Collaborate with expert teams across the Anthesis network to deliver localized impact on a global scale.
Requirements
Educational Background: A bachelor's or master's degree in applied sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Linguistic Excellence: Full professional proficiency in English (written and oral). Fluency in Dutch, Spanish, French, or Portuguese is highly advantageous and will be considered a distinct asset.
Professional Experience: Up to 3 years of relevant experience in carbon markets or environmental project management.
Carbon Standards & Lifecycle: Foundational knowledge of international frameworks such as Verra (VCS) and Gold Standard. Experience with the PDD (Project Design Document) cycle—including validation, monitoring, and verification—is highly desirable.
Analytical Toolkit: Proven ability in GIS/Remote Sensing and data analytics.
Quantitative Rigor: Strong proficiency in statistics and "number crunching" to support carbon potential assessments.
Social Impact: A genuine interest in stakeholder engagement and the socio-economic dimensions of climate projects.
