Responsibilities
Define and maintain cloud architecture patterns, reference designs, and organizational guardrails
Establish and evolve account baselines and foundational environments to ensure secure, compliant, and cost-efficient provisioning
Conduct Well Architected reviews and produce remediation plans with validation evidence
Collaborate with FinOps on tagging strategy, cost allocation models, and cost related gating
Facilitate knowledge sharing across Security, Infrastructure, Development, and FinOps teams
Deliver enablement sessions (workshops, clinics, hands-on training) to drive adoption of approved patterns
Support and coordinate cross-functional cloud initiatives, resolving governance and adoption challenges
Mentor junior engineers and build a network of cloud champions across departments
Communicate cloud vision, progress, and value to executive leadership
Monitor cloud health, compliance, and cost optimization; implement automated guardrails and policy enforcement
Provide hands-on support for escalated cloud issues and lead incident response when required
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across governance and operations
Alignment with UK business hours for effective collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
10-15+ years of professional AWS experience with multi-account production exposure
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Expertise in Terraform governance and validation workflows
Proven experience defining and operating SCPs, policy-as-code, and organisation wide guardrails
Strong working knowledge of AWS security services (IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config)
Practical experience with container platforms (EKS/ECS/Fargate), including baselines, networking, registries, and runtime security
Observability and automation experience (CloudWatch, New Relic, SIEM integration)
Proven stakeholder engagement and enablement skills; able to influence technical decisions and translate strategy into actionable plans
Comfortable operating remotely and collaborating across time zones
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to match content to audience.
