About the role

  • Cloud Engineer developing and monitoring AWS-based platforms for Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG. Joining an agile team to automate deployments and ensure cloud governance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Operation & further development of the AWS-based platform: You operate, manage and monitor our cloud platform built on AWS services — including AWS Bedrock.
  • Infrastructure as Code & automation: You actively work on automating deployments using Terraform (IaC) and are responsible for creating and maintaining the corresponding Terraform modules.
  • Cloud governance & security: You act as the interface to cloud governance and control functions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements at the infrastructure level (GDPR, ISMS, BaFin).
  • Knowledge transfer & best practices: You continuously develop your skills, share your knowledge as a multiplier within the team, and actively contribute to shaping best practices.
  • On-call readiness: You are open to participating in on-call rotations in the future, which will become part of the role in the coming years.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in how the AWS cloud operates, including multi-account management and cross-account security, as well as experience with AWS Bedrock.
  • Solid knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and Terraform (IaC), as well as experience integrating security checks (DevSecOps).
  • Confident handling of account setup, AWS Identity Center, and IAM.
  • Strong familiarity with VPC, network topologies, AWS Direct Connect, Route 53, MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka), and RDS.
  • Business-fluent German (C1) and good English skills (B2).
  • Advantageous: prior experience in cloud security or a willingness to work into these topics.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex topics, analyze them, and derive actionable measures.
  • Continuous learning and knowledge transfer within the team and across the organization are natural to you.
  • You value appreciative and open communication and approach challenges and change with a solution-oriented mindset.
