About the role

  • CDL Program Director responsible for leading curriculum development and training for driver's instruction program. Engages with students and hires faculty within the academic program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the CDL Program.
  • Actively participate in curriculum development, revision, and implementation process.
  • Provide product knowledge training to the Account management group.
  • Engage with potential students and participate in new student orientation.
  • Hire, assign, orient, develop, evaluate, and recognize Driver Trainers.
  • Convene meetings with faculty.
  • Monitor and support the student population within the program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Industry certification in the field of instruction if required by industry.
  • 3 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
  • 5 years of industry experience in the field of instruction.
  • 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Ability to qualify as a CDL Driver /Driver Trainer.
  • Knowledge regarding faculty development.
  • Motivation, dedication, professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm for teaching.
  • Ability to show sensitivity to the needs and requirements of adult learners.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and requirements within the field of instruction.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and database programs.
