About the role

  • CDL Program Director responsible for leading program development and ensuring student success through curriculum implementation, faculty mentorship, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing leadership for the CDL Program.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and actively participates in curriculum development, revision, and implementation process.
  • Hires, assigns, orients, develops, evaluates, and recognizes Driver Trainers within the program(s) of study.
  • Analyzes student population data, working with faculty and staff to identify students who may be at risk.
  • Collects data for purposes of analyzing program performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment.
  • 5 years of industry experience in the field of instruction.
  • 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Ability to qualify as a CDL Driver /Driver Trainer.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and requirements within the field of instruction.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and database programs (CampusVue preferred).
  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships for the purpose of accomplishing work objectives.

  • Maintains regular contact with all students within the program area and responds to their questions and/or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Posts office hours for students.
  • Refers students to appropriate staff for non-academic problem resolution.
  • Monitors contact, and results of contact, from Driver Trainers to students in assigned program area(s).
