Responsibilities
- Provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader
- Taking ownership and leading projects from start to finish
- Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation
- Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff
- Contributing to the professional development of junior staff
- Liaising with Client and supplier representatives
- Managing a small, locally based, single-discipline technical team
- Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work-winning function
- Drive effective Health and Safety practices within the team
Requirements
- Developed experience and expertise within the Structures field
- Ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions
- Very good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools (e.g LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
- Good commercial awareness
- Good understanding of CDM and risk assessment
- Substantially experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks on projects
- Good understanding of interface management
- Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE or an equivalent professional licence
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning
