- Senior Structures Engineer leading engineering solutions for the Amey Consulting Scotland account. Overseeing teams and mentoring junior staff on a variety of Structures schemes.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective support and assistance to Design Team Leader on Structures schemes
- Take ownership and lead projects from start to finish
- Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation
- Oversee actions of junior staff and take responsibility for their actions
- Contribute to professional development of junior staff as Delegated Engineer
- Liaise with Client and supplier representatives
- Manage a small, locally based, single-discipline technical team
- Contribute to preparation of bids and general work-winning function
- Drive effective Health and Safety practices within the team
Requirements
- Developed experience and expertise within the Structures field
- Ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions
- Takes ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables
- Very good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools (e.g LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
- Good commercial awareness
- Understanding of CDM and risk assessment
- Experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks
- Good understanding of interface management
- Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE is desirable
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning
