About the role

Responsibilities
- Define and review item categorization, safety stock levels for finished goods and raw materials, and inventory locations to maximize resources and minimize costs
- Strategic success planning through action plans for awarding contracts
- Develop strategic category plans for assigned supplier relationships
- Maintain all information related to supplier relationships to enable effective relationship development and to facilitate securing primary sources and, where appropriate, alternative sourcing options
- Benchmarking, research, risk analysis and cost–benefit analysis for all key supplier relationships
- Manage tendering activities to secure the best total cost and service advantage
- Streamline processes using business systems, including JDE & Cognos
- Ensure accuracy of item master data is maintained
- Prepare standard cost budgets and perform ongoing variance analysis and forecasting
- Responsible for setting, agreeing and managing the annual planning and inventory budget
- Lead the procurement team in Dessau and provide internal/external coaching to the team
- Proactively promote the supply chain function within the group
Requirements
- 5 years' experience in a senior procurement or supply chain management role
- Excellent German and business-fluent English
- Strong knowledge of procurement, category strategy development and supply chain process optimization
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships and to apply leadership skills
- Strong negotiator able to interpret, analyze and negotiate contractual cost elements
- Strong customer orientation and commercial awareness
- Good organizational and planning skills
