About the role

  • Manager overseeing Lac La Biche Provincial Campus Based Care operational activities and providing staff support. Ensuring compliance with legislation and financial responsibilities while leading program supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director, the manager of the Lac La Biche Provincial Campus Based Cared PCBC will be responsible for overseeing the operational daily activities and will provide supervision and guidance to the program supervisors as well as a leadership presence to all staff.
  • Striving for excellence and working alongside others the manager will ensure a high level of competency and support for staff due to levels of care responsibility, high needs of children and the life altering impacts/outcomes of decisions that program supervisors and child and youth care workers are required to make in their roles.
  • The manager will establish and implement effective monitoring procedures to ensure financial and administrative responsibilities meet legislation, budget allocation, and financial/administration policy.

Requirements

  • A university degree in a related field, such as child and youth care, social work psychology, sociology or other related human services education supplemented by four (4) years progressively responsible related leadership experience is required.
  • Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
  • An understanding of, and experience in group home facility, quality assurance systems development and environmental issues impacting the delivery of services to children, youth, and families including Indigenous models of intervention.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills to align a large diverse team into a specific purpose, development of collaborative networks with peers and other stakeholders and an understanding of government processes, legislation and environment are all considered to be an asset.
  • The ideal candidate will come with the following assets: Management experience preferably in a campus-based or group home care or child intervention environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and proven success to effectively manage and lead internal and external resources, including budget and staff, to achieve organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including strong interpersonal, coaching, and mentoring skills supported by a demonstrated commitment to develop self and others.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead collaborative environments through strong relationship building skills.
  • Intermediate project management skills as evidenced by a track record of accomplishing objectives and achieving results.
  • Well-developed systems thinking, creative problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in agility along with the ability to anticipate, assess and readily adapt to changing priorities (agility) to meet tight timelines for program, policy, and issues management responses.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) including mediation and conflict resolution skills.
