Responsibilities

  • Perform studies, projects and assignments of general scope and/or specifically assigned duties relative to carrying out the functions of the department
  • Collaborating with project teams on planning, designing and executing enterprise resource projects to ensure seamless integration
  • Assist in the preparation, analysis and interpretation of information and statistical reports as required
  • Conduct special studies, analyses and investigations; record information and prepare graphic and interpretative illustrations
  • Maintain departmental records and prepare statements and reports relating to operating activities; analyze and interpret such records and reports as directed by management
  • Work with other personnel of the department and assist in the performance of their assignments
  • Supporting documentation for decision-making processes and initiatives aimed at improving operational performance and safety in our services
  • Embrace AEP’s safety culture by understanding safety guidelines and standards in both office and field environments
  • Become familiar with Company organization, departmental functional responsibilities, and group interrelationships
  • Expand your skills by taking on new challenges

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) OR Data Science or related degree OR a Business degree with a focus on Finance or Accounting
  • Must have completed at least your freshman year
  • Graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Willingness and ability to relocate for the summer to one of our engineering internship locations, if necessary
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT, or CPT
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (preferred)
  • Interest in the electric utility sector, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices (preferred)
  • Effective time management skills (preferred)
