About the role

  • Manager responsible for clinician contract operations at Duke Health Integrated Practice. Leading a team to improve contracting workflows and ensure compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of program managers (contract drafters) and oversee clinician contract operations for DHIP, supporting all contracting workflows.
  • Monitor trends and assist in improvement of services by analyzing operating procedures and recommending efficient solutions.
  • Plan and schedule work for the team, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space, and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
  • Prepare operational reports and analyses for leadership setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions, predicting trends to inform business development, facility, and technology planning.
  • Assist DUHS entities and staff in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data and information to internal and external parties.
  • Support organization's efforts to maintain compliance with regulations and legal standards.
  • Monitor compliance through formal and informal processes and partnership with relevant legal teams.
  • Take corrective action in situations requiring immediate intervention, including interpretation of policy, work rules, and quality issues.
  • Investigate escalations from customers and implement appropriate course of action.
  • Provide leadership support to Clinical Departments and community practices on issues regarding contract and compensation management in partnership with leadership as appropriate.
  • Manage the design and implementation of contract management system, databases, and electronic files in an organized manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related work experience, including experience leading cross-functional teams and significant responsibility for performance/ process improvement.
  • A Master’s degree can substitute for two (2) years of experience.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and proactively recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior grammar/proofreading skills, attention to detail, and document redline experience.
  • Familiarity working with contract management software platforms.
  • Strong computer technology skills including, but not limited to: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.), enterprise content management systems, and SAP.
  • Valid driver’s license required and means of transportation.
  • Familiarity with physician compensation planning and incentive structures is preferred.
  • Experience working in a hospital system or academic medical center is preferred.
