Responsibilities
Technical and disciplinary leadership of the Software QA team
Planning, coordination and prioritization of team tasks, ensuring delivery on time and to quality standards
Aligning software qualification and release plans with software development, project and program management and other stakeholders
Ensuring milestones and quality standards are met throughout the entire software qualification process
Planning team staffing requirements while considering project timelines and budgetary constraints
Monitoring the team budget and initiating corrective actions in case of deviations
Continuously improving efficiency within the area of responsibility
Continuous advancement of technologies used for software validation
o Optimization of system-independent test infrastructures
o Introduction and establishment of modern HiL test benches
o Reduction of validation costs and test run times
Responsibility for the software qualification infrastructure
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and facilitating innovations in software quality
Coaching and developing the team in QA technologies, test automation, simulation, plant modeling, project management and international collaboration
Representing the team’s interests in internal and external committees — including at the highest levels
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field
Many years of professional experience in the disciplinary and technical leadership of software development teams (ideally in software qualification), including managing external development partners
Strong composure in the face of changing conditions and priorities
Very confident presence and experience in successfully communicating with internal and external stakeholders up to top management
Ability to represent and defend the team’s deliverables to internal and external stakeholders
Proven track record in optimizing software QA processes, test strategies and test infrastructures
Solid knowledge of software test processes, test automation and the application of modern test and simulation technologies
Experience with resource and budget planning
Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical issues
Enthusiasm for leading, motivating and developing an international, interdisciplinary team
Strong communication skills in German and English and willingness to travel occasionally
