About the role
- Manage vegetation management programs for Duke Energy, ensuring compliance and addressing community concerns. Oversee contract resources and develop work plans in collaboration with internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop vegetation management work plan and associated budget in collaboration with other VM Specialists
- Monitor the performance of contract resources to assure safe work practices
- Lead role for area VM crews during emergency storm operations
- Respond to customer and community concerns associated with VM and Herbicide Programs
- Work with government agencies to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations
- Perform regular patrols of Transmission or Distribution rights-of-way to identify issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s with 1-3 years of Electrical or VM Experience
- Associates with 3-7 years of Electrical or VM Experience
- High School diploma with 3-10 years of VM or utility experience working in distribution and/or transmission
- ISA Certified Arborist
- Pesticide Applicator License
- Valid Driver's License
- Associates degree in Other Technical or Associate’s degree in forestry or Associate’s degree in engineering for Senior position
- 7 years related work experience for Senior position
- In lieu of associate’s degree(s) AND 7 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 10 year(s) related work experience for Senior position
- Utility Arborist Certification for at least 3 years for Senior position
