About the role

  • Configure, implement and maintain servers, systems and applications supporting corporate and manufacturing operations (VMware, Linux, Microsoft)
  • Act as primary liaison and system admin for all Insulet systems to support production and efficiency goals
  • Ensure compute, backup, storage, and networking are functioning optimally and collaborate with global corporate systems and networking teams
  • Monitor and work incoming support tickets (ServiceNow) ensuring IT systems are operating and end user experience is optimal
  • Manage VMware, Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) and Microsoft Windows systems in a production data environment
  • Monitor and report operating system and application performance
  • Ensure systems are being properly backed up and perform/ log restore testing
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation on systems and processes
  • Maintain/repair infrastructure components under IT control with vendors to provide 100% availability of service
  • Recommend and implement changes based on performance analysis
  • Implement automation for repetitive tasks where possible
  • Recommend new technology to improve operations
  • Work as an effective member of the global IT team with minimal supervision
  • Complete changes and maintenance as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of Microsoft Windows and/or Linux system administration including Windows Server versions since 2012
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy and SQL Server
  • Experience with data backup, data retention, and disaster recovery exercises
  • Experience with VMWare installation and maintenance
  • Experience with iSCSI SAN (Pure) and/or Dell/EMC Isilon storage a plus
  • Experience in validated medical device or FDA regulated operations a plus
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO a plus
  • Experience with an enterprise support ticketing system (ServiceNow) a plus
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation
  • Experience managing Windows and Linux servers in a production data center environment
  • Understanding of networking technologies and its impact on servers and automated manufacturing
  • Project management capabilities
  • Ability to understand and communicate with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to investigate, identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and activities as both a lead and team member
  • Task oriented and required attention to detail
  • Self motivated and stays current with new technology
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches
  • Must be able to lift and transfer up to 30 pounds
  • Domestic and Global travel required – up to 20%
