Responsibilities
Perform specialized accounting functions within Accounting - Deposit Operations in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and excellent internal service while supporting the credit union’s overall financial integrity
Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, streamline reconciliations, and improve reporting tools
Daily Balancing and Reconciliation – 45% Responsible for balancing the Financial Centers’ previous day’s transactions and various subsidiary ledgers
Post journal entries to the General Ledger
Process and reconcile member-impacting items including returned checks, wire transfers, and mobile deposits
Balance and prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Issue Resolution & Department Collaboration – 25% Work closely with other departments in the credit union to research and correct any out-of-balance situations
Support accurate and timely financial reporting
Process Improvement & Efficiency – 15% Identify and recommend process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
Compliance, Training & Other Duties – 15% Attend all required training and meetings
Handle other duties as assigned
Requirements
Two-year degree in accounting or related field, or completion of a specialized course of study, or equivalent experience required
Minimum one year of accounting experience required
Strong analytical skills

Effective time management skills; ability to plan and meet deadlines
Strong oral communication skills
