About the role
- Assistant Management Accountant providing financial support for Highways PFI contract at Severn Bridge Maintenance Unit. Ensuring accurate transaction records and adherence to reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring correct revenue and cost allocation across works
- Analysis of scheme profitability and cost variances, including revenue and cost reconciliations
- Ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making across the contract
- Supporting the business budgeting and forecasting processes and management of actual performance against the latest budget/forecast
- Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations along with identifying and dealing with potential issues
- Liaising with Group Finance on queries
Requirements
- Part-qualified looking to progress to qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)
- Previous management accountancy experience in a similar environment
- Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of accounting practices and reporting requirements
- Experience of supporting the production of management accounts, including working with profit centres and producing variance analyses
- Organisation and planning skills, with ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of SAP would be a distinct advantage
- Experience of working within an Infrastructure environment, specifically Highways, Rail, Construction preferred but not essential.
