About the role

• Developing modern backend services with Kotlin and Quarkus at Solvares Group. Collaborating on architecture decisions and integrating services in a CI/CD pipeline.

Responsibilities

• You develop modern, maintainable, and high-performance backend services with Kotlin and Quarkus in a microservice architecture.
• You shape the technical implementation of requirements — from API design and database modeling to production operation in our cloud infrastructure.
• You contribute to architecture decisions and work closely with product owners, DevOps, and frontend colleagues.
• You seamlessly integrate your services into our CI/CD pipeline using GitLab and ArgoCD and ensure stable operation in Kubernetes.
• You develop automated tests at the unit and API level to provide rapid feedback and ensure high code quality — quality is a core part of your engineering approach.

Requirements

• Solid experience in backend development with Kotlin (or Java with a strong affinity for Kotlin)
• Excellent knowledge of Quarkus or similar frameworks
• Experience in developing distributed systems and microservices
• Confident working with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with ArgoCD or comparable GitOps tools
• Understanding of clean code principles, API design, error handling, and performance optimization
• Knowledge of Go and Node.js is a plus
• Business-fluent German and fluent English, both spoken and written
