About the role

• Software Developer Java / React developing applications for a legal technology company. Involves working with agile teams and modern tech in Saarbrücken

Responsibilities

• You develop modern, high-performance applications with GUI, middleware and backend components in a service-oriented architecture.
• Together with your agile team you implement tailored solutions based on Java, Spring and React.
• You accompany the entire project lifecycle — from conception and design through implementation and testing.
• Quality matters to you: you ensure our software remains stable and future-proof through code reviews, unit tests and integration tests.
• You analyze existing applications, identify weaknesses and implement sustainable fixes.
• You continuously optimize existing systems and bring them up to date — both technically and functionally.

Requirements

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification gained through relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience in software development
• Practical experience with various software development models, especially in an agile environment
• Competence in solution design and translating complex requirements into technical solutions
• Confident use of common development tools and testing frameworks
• Knowledge of Java, Spring or JavaScript (React preferred)
• Practical experience with middleware technologies (e.g. RabbitMQ), REST APIs, and relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience using code assistance systems and/or coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) is a plus
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment processes
• Advantageous (not required): know-how in Continuous Integration as well as Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Knowledge of processing XML documents or authentication methods such as OIDC or SAML
• Interest in innovative technologies and active tracking of current IT trends
• Business-fluent German and good English.
