About the role

  • Consultant conducting assessments of unmet sexual and reproductive health needs in Burundi. Supporting IRC's humanitarian response to health challenges faced by vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

  • Systematically measure the magnitude, nature, and determinants of unmet sexual and reproductive health needs among target populations served by IRC programs in Burundi
  • Conduct an in-depth assessment of the quality, relevance, effectiveness, and efficiency of current SRH interventions
  • Generate robust evidence to inform decision-making and funding

Requirements

  • A postgraduate university degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, or another related field
  • 3–10 studies previously conducted as lead/principal consultant in evaluations, reviews, analyses, research studies, or M&E work in the health sector
  • In-depth knowledge of the health system in Burundi and of SRH, including HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, maternal health, family planning, and emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC)
  • Ability to support dissemination of evaluation and research findings: 01 point per reference
  • Communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to draft memos and internal progress and evaluation reports: 01 point per reference
