About the role

  • Provide expert strategic and capital advisory consulting services related to growth, volatility and capital structure to (re)insurers
  • Drive APAC strategic development and deal origination efforts related to assessing and executing corporate transactions (e.g. M&A, strategic investments/ divestments, partnerships, JV)
  • Develop thought leadership with an emphasis on marketing capital advisory capabilities – with a focus on capital structure, including ideation and origination of new opportunities related to M&A and capital-raising transactions and structures depending on client needs
  • Present strategic considerations and financial impact analysis across various transaction structures to a senior audience of insurance and reinsurance clients
  • Collaborate with colleagues across GC Securities (New York and London), APAC Structured Solutions and client management teams across the region
  • Conduct research on market trends, industry insights and competitive landscape, analyzing the impact on the business

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of robust experience in strategic consulting and/ or investment banking
  • Experience in investment banking, M&A and/or equities research is highly valued
  • Actuarial consulting experience with a focus on M&A and valuations will also be considered
  • Excellent numerical, financial analysis and financial modelling skills, including M&A modelling related to insurance and the insurance value chain
  • Ability to interpret, organise and clearly communicate complex financial information
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working within the Asian market
  • Commercially astute with a strong business acumen; self-motivated with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Client-focused mindset with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service and value to clients
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in multicultural environments, exhibiting strong gravitas and presence to influence and foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in additional Asian languages is advantageous
