Senior Vendor Management Program Manager developing and executing IT strategic partnerships for Medtronic. Collaborating with Global IT leadership and top technology suppliers to drive innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
Develops, manages, and continuously improves the strategic partnerships program.
Able to create a strategy, structure, and templates for ongoing execution through the vendor management team and their suppliers
Works collaboratively with Global IT leadership, internal customers, and our most impactful technology partners (~Top 30) to align strategy with execution
Understands the relationship between governance and partnership and provides a framework for both.
Serves as the architect and thought leader for VMO's supplier scorecard program, while building relationship capital, access, and advocacy with technology leaders and executive sponsors.
Working with the vendor management team, creates and maintains relationship ladders and stakeholder maps with our leading technology suppliers.
Able to use these relationships to map out priorities, influence outcomes, and ensure Medtronic's needs are met by our suppliers.
Creates a pipeline of innovation by connecting Medtronic's expressed or unmet needs to partner capabilities, resources, and roadmaps.
Enables the right level of conversation between the right people to find and develop innovative solutions, use cases, and forward-looking opportunities.
Delivers measurable quality and performance gains year-over-year, through the creation and execution of scorecards, providing a forum for SLA/KPI review and improvement plans generated from quantitative and qualitative feedback.
Delivers measurable financial value year-over-year, coming from the identification and execution of use cases which leverage new-to-Medtronic supplier capabilities in digital, AI, and automation, resulting in hard-dollar return on investment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree
Strongly Preferred: Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical or business-related discipline
7+ years working in some combination of IT operations, procurement, or vendor management; where measuring, managing, and influencing supplier outcomes was a core part of the position
7+ years working with large, strategic IT suppliers, preferably across a variety of commodity areas, i.e. Hardware, Software, Network, and IT Services
7+ years creating and driving vendor strategy, aligning customer requirements with third-party services, delivering successful outcomes via internal and external teams
Experience delivering programmatic vendor management and/or strategic programs at scale; comfortable working across a matrixed organization to create templates, standards, and program elements to be implemented by a global VMO and its stakeholders
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, specifically as it relates to working with internal and external teams to maintain effective relationships and long-term partnerships
Ability to influence - both internally and externally - using an objective, data-driven approach to reach the right solution
Strong presentation skills - in support of both monthly recurring reporting and ad hoc strategy and analysis that must be communicated to internal customers
