About the role
- Program Manager supporting program design and delivery at the National Emergency Management Agency. Collaborating with stakeholders to manage disaster recovery and funding programs.
Responsibilities
- Program managers in the Recovery Programs Branch support the design, delivery and management of NEMA’s administered programs, including the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA)
- The position will require program management experience, exceptional stakeholder skills, excellent attention to detail and analysis and solid communication skills
- At times staff within NEMA may be required to work outside of standard business hours, particularly during the higher risk weather season
- Work closely with key stakeholders to deliver key programs
Requirements
- Experience or an interest in program management, and/or disaster funding programs/policy at Commonwealth, state or local government level
- Experience in project management across all key stages of program delivery
- Sound influencing and negotiation skills and able to develop effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Understand relevant government policy, legislative and financial frameworks including Commonwealth procurement and grant rules and guidelines, and Federation Funding Agreements
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to clearly advise and influence stakeholders and decision makers
- Ability to show initiative, sound judgement, integrity and personal drive
- An understanding of disaster and climate management and the issues facing Australia
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
