Responsibilities
Select and evaluate sensors for future platforms.
Collaborate with suppliers to understand roadmaps, emerging technologies, resolve technical issues, and source sensors.
Manage all aspects of sensor integration and configuration.
Characterize and evaluate sensor performance, developing strategies for improving accuracy, reliability, and durability.
Ensure successful integration of sensors within the autonomous vehicle system through cross-organizational collaboration.
Build test assets for sensor evaluation, characterization, and validation.
Conduct field testing, data collection, and data analysis, documenting and reporting results.
Provide support for other sensor modalities and engineers as needed.
Collaborate on shared team tooling, infrastructure, and test assets.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of related hands-on experience with Lidar and/or Radar, preferably in autonomous vehicles or robotics.
Experience with Cameras, GNSS, and/or IMU is a plus.
Strong practical experience with automotive sensors.
Proficiency in sensor data acquisition, processing, and analysis techniques.
Experience with signal processing, statistics, and machine learning algorithms.
Proficiency in Python for data analysis and visualization.
Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
