About the role
- Molding Engineer providing hands-on technical support for injection molding operations in a medical device environment. Collaborating with teams on process improvements and validation activities.
Responsibilities
- Promote a Safety First mindset across all molding areas, equipment, and procedures
- Provide real-time troubleshooting and technical support for production molding processes with guidance from senior engineering staff
- Support and/or execute validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ protocol development, execution, and reporting
- Partner with tooling, equipment, and material vendors to resolve mold or equipment issues, as supported by senior engineering staff
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, NPI, and Engineering to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives
- Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements to reduce scrap, improve yield, and optimize cycle times
- Support defect analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementation
- Provide limited technical training and guidance to molding technicians and operators
- Maintain cleanroom compliance, technical documentation, and change control requirements
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in injection molding, plastics processing, or relevant manufacturing engineering role
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of molding process development, troubleshooting, and process optimization
- Working knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ and GMP/ISO/cleanroom expectations
- Ability to interpret part prints, mold designs, and process documentation
- Experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Strong written communication, documentation, and computer skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom and on the production floor
