About the role
- Senior Python Developer building a Firmwide Data Security Gateway for Morgan Stanley. Driving adoption of advanced data security capabilities while leveraging AI-enabled solutions.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
- Develop and architect innovative solutions to enhance a high-performance file transfer data gateway
- Provide technical leadership and vision for software development project roadmap
- Define technical architecture and roadmap for large-scale, mission-critical systems.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Oversee the execution of software development projects, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
- Drive projects to optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to align technology solutions with business objectives.
- Analyze product performance data to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 8 years' relevant experience
- Strong hands-on experience in building large-scale and high-performance web application using Python
- Working knowledge of Java and/or C#/.NET is a plus
- Strong hands-on experience with full-stack web technologies spanning client-side, server-side, and infrastructure components, including web/application servers, load balancing, database, caching strategies, compression, security implementation, and file transfer over web.
- Experience in designing, developing, and managing file transfer services for large-scale enterprise solutions
- Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.
- Proven track record of leading high-performance engineering teams
- Ability to align technology initiatives with business objectives
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Strong people management skills and fostering a collaborative team culture is a plus
- Strategic planning and execution of engineering projects.
