About the role
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using Abaqus for offshore pipelines, cables and interconnectors
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for pre-processing, post-processing, data science and automation of finite element simulations
- Provide advanced analysis and technical solutions for clients in the offshore pipeline, cable and interconnectors industry
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary global team of consultants/scientists to deliver integrated project solutions
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and support their professional development and chartership
- Frame problems, summarise key technical drivers and deliver concise solutions under time pressure
- Contribute to innovation, sustainability and optimisation across project lifecycles
Requirements
- MEng or PhD qualified in Civil, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or Mathematical disciplines.
- Relevant finite element analysis and coding experience
- Practical experience within the offshore pipeline, cable and interconnectors industry that has allowed you to progress to more senior levels
- Proficient and well developed experience in the use of Abaqus and Python.
- Willingness and enthusiastic mentor / coaching experience of less experienced engineers on technical aspects of process engineering and continued professional development.
- Be adaptable and agile to enable delivery of assignments at short notice while multi-tasking across concurrent project scopes.
- First class communication demonstrating ability to summarise key drivers succinctly.
