About the role
- Senior Platform Engineer developing automation scripts and supporting applications for LexisNexis. Collaborating with various business units on cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts using languages like Python, Perl, or JavaScript to streamline operations and reduce manual work.
- Developing and supporting applications using MySQL and SQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Administering Linux-based systems, Java services, and Apache web servers.
- Managing and supporting cloud environments and infrastructure services.
- Building and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub, JFrog, and Maven.
- Ensuring smooth and secure software delivery processes.
- Implement security best practices in development and operations.
- Using monitoring and network troubleshooting tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Providing hands-on technical support for systems and applications during US Eastern Time hours.
- Participating in incident response, root cause analysis, and performance tuning to ensure system uptime/reliability
Requirements
- Possess current and extensive proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience in developing database applications utilizing MySQL and MS SQL server for Windows.
- Experienced in deploying and customizing open-source software solutions.
- Possess knowledge in supporting MySQL, Linux, Java, and Apache.
- Experienced in managing/support Cloud features
- Experienced in managing Repo-CI/CD Solutions (GitHub, Jfrog. Maven etc.)
- Competent in security software development technologies and processes.
- Familiar with network troubleshooting tools.
- Possess Github profile / account - Contributing to open source etc.
