Responsibilities
- Establishing, maintaining and expanding relationships with municipalities and municipal utilities across Germany
- Presenting cooperation models and participation approaches to local decision-makers (mayors, managing directors of municipal utilities, supervisory boards)
- Providing strategic advice to decision-makers on cooperation models and participation options
- Developing high-level concepts for decarbonization, and for the expansion or establishment of district heating networks in close collaboration with internal specialist teams
- Managing cooperation projects through to the investment decision
- Facilitating dialogue processes and supporting decision-making pathways in political bodies
- Early identification of suitable project approaches
- Monitoring market and competitive developments, especially in municipal heat planning and funding programs (e.g., BEW, KfW)
- Active networking to position IQE as the partner of choice
- Preparing and supporting letters of intent and the formation of project companies
Requirements
- Degree in Energy Economics, Industrial Engineering, Urban Planning, Business Administration or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in the energy sector, project development or municipal partnerships, preferably in heat supply
- Understanding of municipal decision-making structures and the regulatory and practical framework of the heat transition
- Ability to explain complex issues clearly and to build trust with partners
- Strategic thinker with negotiation skills and enthusiasm for collaborative partnerships
- Willingness to travel within Germany
- Team player and strong networker
