About the role
- Senior Legal Counsel at Kahoot! providing legal expertise in commercial and corporate matters. Collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced global technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal guidance on commercial agreement templates managed by our Operations team
- Develop and maintain comprehensive playbooks to establish critical legal and risk thresholds in commercial contracting
- Serve as the primary escalation point for Legal on commercial matters
- Monitor legal developments affecting commercial operations and proactively advise on impact to business practices
- Lead legal implementation of corporate changes across the Kahoot! Group, including inter-company agreements and group reorganization activities
- Manage the administration of employee and management incentive programs with support from external counsel
- Coordinate corporate legal work supported by external counsel
- Act as first-line coordinator for M&A transactions, working closely with external deal counsel to ensure seamless execution
- Support the Finance team with annual reporting requirements and other financial compliance matters
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance and business teams to enable growth while managing risk
Requirements
- Law degree and admission to practice in Norway
- At least 5-7 years of legal experience, both in law firm and in-house settings, with significant commercial contracting and corporate law expertise
- Corporate governance expertise, including equity programs, cap table management and inter-company structures
- M&A transaction experience, including due diligence, deal structuring and post-closing integration
- Technology sector experience preferred, with understanding of SaaS/platform business models
- Exceptional commercial judgment with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives
- Strong project management skills with experience coordinating complex, multi-jurisdictional matters
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Norwegian
- Detail-oriented approach with ability to manage multiple high-priority matters simultaneously
