Right now, we’re facing a critical inflection point and we need an elite database engineer to drive that scalability transformation.
• **The Opportunity**
• We’re seeking a visionary **Senior Database Engineer** to architect and execute our end-to-end data strategy across our technical stack of products. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that puts you at the center of critical technical decisions while giving you the autonomy to shape our data future today. You will own meaningful challenges that most large organizations struggle with, but you will have the support and resources to actually solve them in the early stages.
• Reporting directly to the VP, Engineering, you will become a critical member of the Engineering team as well as partner cross-functionally with Sales, Labs, Product, and Customer Success as internal customers. Your mandate: build and assemble the data layer, processes, and team needed to rapidly secure and provide data to support internal and external customers globally within seconds of incoming requests for large data sets, instill a quality-first culture, and sustain performance as we scale.

Requirements

• 10+ years in data leadership role, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role managing a team.
• Proven experience protecting customer data and IP in a high-growth tech company or startup.
• Deep understanding of modern software development practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, etc.).
• Expertise in most data tools such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS Dynamo, MongoDB, MariaDB, Cassandra, etc…
• Experience with cloud-based environments and microservices architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Data-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• **Preferred**
• Knowledge of and experience using bar raising Data layer AI technologies in practice
• Experience working in a fast paced start up environment
