About the role

  • Oversee all phases of the construction project timeline including budgeting, site inspections, code analysis, conceptual plan development through construction documentation, permitting, competitive bidding, and management of GCs, trades, and vendors
  • Assist with new center construction deals and pre-lease/purchase due diligence
  • Generate conceptual budgets without full drawing sets and prepare comprehensive project budgets
  • Manage architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Perform regular site visits, monitor construction progress, and hold status meetings with team members
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, recovery plans, and required project documentation
  • Review and address change orders, RFIs, pay applications, and manage costs within budget
  • Act as liaison with landlords, vendors, municipalities, and coordinate owner-provided equipment and material orders and schedules
  • Oversee punch list process and manage project closeout to timely completion
  • Track project cost against budget and use systems such as JD Edwards as applicable

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimating
  • Strong supervisory and team building skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations, ADA requirements, current building codes and contract documents
  • Knowledge of commercial construction management particularly on large scale builds and remodels both in newer and older buildings with mixed use
  • Four-year college degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering preferred
  • Strong preference for a background in large scale commercial renovation, specifically food and beverage, entertainment, hospitality, and/or retail with a history of managing multiple projects at one time
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in construction industry including design
  • Previous experience working as an owner’s representative is preferred
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards accounting system is a plus but not required
  • Travel estimated between 25% and 75% averaged throughout the year depending on project status
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather
  • Must be on call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather and other issues
