About the role
- Senior Analyst enhancing trading performance by developing tools and implementing systems for BetMGM's sports betting team. Collaborating with stakeholders for continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain tools that support trading operations, including automation solutions and risk management systems.
- Work closely with trading teams to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
- Develop and implement real-time alerts and monitoring systems to identify anomalies, opportunities, and risks in the trading environment.
- Continuously refine and optimize alert systems based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Analyze trading data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform trading strategies and tool development.
- Generate reports and dashboards that provide clear and actionable insights to trading teams and management.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the trading department to ensure tools and systems meet the needs of the team.
- Provide training and support to trading teams on new tools and systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in sports betting and trading.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the trading function.
- Lead or participate in special projects aimed at enhancing trading performance and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in a sports trading role required
- 3+ years experience in an analytical role preferred
- Technical skills in SQL, Python, Google Apps Script, cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) preferred
- Experience with Apache Kafka for real-time data processing and streaming is a plus
- Experience in developing tools and systems for a trading department a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Extensive knowledge of sports betting products and terminology
- High level of personal initiative and motivation
- Aptitude for project management and ability to clearly communicate updates at all stages of project lifecycle through delivery.
