About the role
- Lead all SAFe and Scrum events, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives
- Act as an Agile coach and mentor, providing guidance on SAFe, Scrum, and Lean principles
- Proactively identify and remove blockers and shield the team from external distractions
- Support the Product Owner with backlog management and ensure team understanding of goals and scope
- Build a trusting, collaborative environment emphasizing continuous improvement and problem-solving
- Track and communicate team progress and metrics (velocity, cycle time) using Jira and other tools
- Guide the team’s role within the Agile Release Train (ART) and ensure alignment with program objectives
- Report to IT leadership (reports to Daniel Agudelo) and collaborate with distributed stakeholders
Requirements
- 2-5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master role for a software development team
- 1-2 years hands-on experience in a SAFe environment
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Strong communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Deep understanding of the servant-leader role and passion for empowering teams
- Experience participating in a large-scale Agile transformation (preferred)
- Advanced SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Advanced Scrum Master - SASM) preferred
- Knowledge of other Agile approaches like Kanban and XP (preferred)
- Previous experience as a software developer, QA engineer, or business analyst (preferred)
