About the role

  • Perform detailed workplace assessments (onsite and virtual) to identify hazards and evaluate safety programs
  • Analyze claims and incident data to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities for loss prevention
  • Write comprehensive technical reports summarizing findings and recommending improvements
  • Collaborate with Nextep underwriting, sales, and risk teams to assess prospective clients and support risk management strategies
  • Guide clients on accident investigations, safety training, and compliance with federal and state regulations (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA)
  • Deliver timely, accurate reports and advise business owners to strengthen safety practices and reduce workers’ compensation claims

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in risk control, insurance safety consulting, or industry safety roles
  • Skilled at analyzing data (including pivot tables) to identify loss trends and develop data-driven solutions
  • Strong communicator, comfortable writing detailed technical reports and presenting findings to clients and underwriters
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards
  • Certifications such as CSP, ARM, or CRM are a plus
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Salesforce, and web-based applications
