About the role
- R&D Engineer/Specialist contributing to digital maintenance solutions at KONE. Development of strategies to enhance equipment maintenance and reliability using innovative technologies.
Responsibilities
- Method development and validation for preventive maintenance and repairs including materials and time studies
- Conduct field data analysis to define optimal replacement intervals for elevator components during the life cycle
- Simulate and assess how service plans impact equipment reliability and availability over the life time.
- Contribute to the development of digital maintenance strategies including diagnostics, sensor integration, and remote failure mode detection
- Act as a subject matter expert in service development projects in collaboration with other KTI teams, Business, Area and Frontlines
Requirements
- MSc or BSc degree in a relevant field
- Interest and experience in data-driven maintenance optimization and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) process
- Familiar with design for maintainability principles, as well as preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Experience with RAM (Reliability-Availability-Maintainability) simulations and related tools like ReliaSoft BlockSim, RCM++, Matlab or any other system simulation environments
- Solid understanding of reliability engineering, condition monitoring technologies, and sensor applications (considered a strong asset)
- Experience with Agile methodologies and related tools (considered a plus)
- Knowledge of elevator and escalator systems (considered beneficial)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- A self-driven approach and a track record of delivering strong results.
