About the role

  • Collaborate closely with product owners and project stakeholders to deliver impactful change to the policy management system
  • Learn and understand the underlying technology to predict and prevent where things are likely to break
  • Troubleshoot system problems (in test and production) to highlight the root cause of failures
  • Execute efficient test plans and perform ad-hoc testing as needed
  • Perform effective data validation and analysis using SQL
  • Utilize spec docs to create targeted test plans that exhibit the intersection of business needs and likely tech failures
  • Deliver solutions for personal insurance business partners, internal users, agents, and clients
  • Some travel for team meetings and training may be required

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a QA Analyst in the property and casualty insurance space
  • Previous experience as a QA Analyst in the insurance space (small to mid-sized homeowners or commercial insurance carrier is ideal)
  • Proven ability to write effective and detailed test cases and test plans from requirements, user stories, or technical specifications
  • Hands-on experience with modern test case management tools
  • Familiarity with interpreting API documentation and testing
  • 3+ years performing testing or other similar tech-related work
  • 2+ years SQL or similar scripting experience
  • Coding and troubleshooting experience with our tech stack (.NET/C#/SQL Server)
  • Experience testing different data formats like JSON and XML
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT is required
  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required
  • Designated quiet work from home space
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; company unable to provide visa sponsorship
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical problem solver; curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative; able to meet deadlines
