Product Development Engineer leading product design projects and managing relationships with suppliers in Brazil and Asia. Responsible for technical specifications, project management, and product validation.
Responsibilities
Develop new products according to commercial, creative and technical briefs.
Create and review 3D models (CAD), technical drawings and physical/virtual prototypes.
Approve mold and tooling designs.
Specify plastic, metal, electronic and textile materials according to application.
Participate in validation tests, certifications and laboratory trials.
Prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and track engineering costs.
Coordinate projects with national and international suppliers and manufacturers.
Implement continuous improvements in product design, assembly and performance.
Ensure complete technical documentation (data sheets, product and production manuals and other required specifications).
Negotiate and manage toolrooms in the construction of molds and tooling.
Support homologation and certification processes (INMETRO / ANATEL / others), when applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or Production Engineering. Preferably 5 years of experience in the field.
Proficient with CAD/3D tools (SolidWorks, NX, Inventor, AutoCAD).
Experience with injection molding, painting, metallization, assembly and packaging.
Knowledge of rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC).
Knowledge of specialized prototyping (Looks Like / Works Like).
Knowledge of project management methodologies (agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban).
Knowledge of industrial costs and value engineering.
Advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Experience in a manufacturing environment or working with external suppliers (Brazil and Asia).
Desirable: technical English (reading and communication with suppliers in Brazil and China).
