About the role
- Principal Network Engineer responsible for managing network infrastructure at MCM. This involves designing security solutions, optimizing network performance, and ensuring timely communication between data centers and offices.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage security solutions, including firewall, and network intrusion detection systems
- Ensure network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
- Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
- Analyze and resolve communication problems between the MCM data centers and offices in a timely and accurate fashion
- Manage network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls and Load Balancers
- Design and implement all equipment, hardware and software upgrades
- Recommend and manage network monitoring tools
- Design and maintain network access permissions, and access rights
- Participate in the planning and execution of security audits
- Develop and implement applications and tools to improve the operational efficiency of the company
- Developing metrics and reports for managing network connectivity
- Collect and analyze data that is necessary for stability and improved performance
- Prepare and maintain system level documentation and training material where appropriate
- Ensure that the appropriate monitoring and management tools are in place, including procurement and in house development of specialized tools as necessary
Requirements
- Palo Alto firewalls is required
- Experience with ISE
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco switches, Cisco routers
- 7+ years experience in a similar role
- Ability to operate on a follow-the-sun model on a shift basis as required, on call and late/weekend work expected
- Experience with ServiceNow and SolarWinds is required
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Preferred SDWAN experience is highly desired
- Cisco CCIE or CCNP certification
- Meraki experience preferred
- Master's or advanced degree in relevant field
