About the role

  • Senior Network Engineer at Logix Federal Credit Union handling network administration and technical support. Overseeing local and wide area networks while ensuring security and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and installs hardware (e.g. LAN/WAN, Server) and software.
  • Resolves and/or coordinates the resolution of infrastructure problems, malfunctions.
  • Provides technical support and guidelines to IT staff and other areas through documentation.
  • Periodically assists with Information Security procedures and processes.
  • Assists in presentations to management.
  • Evaluates new products and emerging technologies.
  • Provides technical recommendations to improve network performance and support business requirements.
  • Ensures reliability, performance, recoverability, and security of infrastructure components, operating systems and various applications.
  • Performs implementations, configurations, coordination, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and capacity management.
  • Maintains the integrity of infrastructure hardware and software through proactive disaster recovery planning and simulations.
  • Provides support for Microsoft 2003/2008/2012 Windows servers.
  • Provides support of LAN, MS Domain and related services, Active Directory, MS back office products, Exchange, IIS, SQL and other enterprise applications.
  • Performs LAN/WAN engineering of primarily Cisco based Switches and Routers.
  • Designs, maintains and modifies IP routing and VLAN topologies.
  • Provides maintenance/support for Internet/WAN, Firewalls, DMZ, DNS, NAT, Policies, Routing and ACLs.
  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots various networking devices including Switches, Routers, Network Security Devices, Load Balancers, Wireless Controllers, and Access Points.
  • Analyzes trends and assists in the development and design of networks.
  • Troubleshoots and performs tests to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Monitors network resources and carriers to ensure availability and performance.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems affecting network performance.
  • Backfills and supports other team members when needed; during business hours or after scheduled work hours.
  • Answers all network-related trouble tickets/emails.
  • Supports staff as required to provide a positive customer experience.
  • Ability to successfully plan, document, and perform maintenance on production networks and adhere to change management policies and procedures.
  • Works with peers and leadership from different functions and has an impact across the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 7 years related IT/Networking experience required.
  • Cisco experience preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a Windows server environment working with VMWare, Citrix, and Exchange.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (O365) is a plus.
  • Linux experience is a plus.
  • Relevant professional and technical certifications (Microsoft, VMWare, EMC, Dell, Cisco, etc.) preferred.
  • Own and solve complex tasks that are part of a large project and lead small projects on their own.
