About the role
- Principal Electrical Engineer designing electrical systems for Reworld's sustainable waste solutions. Leading multiple engineering projects, providing expertise, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the Director of Electrical Engineering, the Principal Engineer will be responsible for Electrical engineering design aspects of capital projects and facility upgrades
- Electrical design support for Planned outages, and design requirements related to equipment troubleshooting
- Business development/expansion projects at various operating facilities
- Lead, manage and execute multiple electrical projects/programs in the network
- Provide subject matter expertise and lead cross functional teams while driving technical standardization as a guardian of certain Electrical Design Standards for Reworld
- Act as a primary Electrical Engineering SME to the business
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Institution
- Minimum 10 years engineering experience
- Registered Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain future licensure is preferred
- Experience with High, Medium & Low Voltage distribution systems and electrical power generation in large utility power plants or large industrial co-generation facilities or Design/Architectural Engineering firms
- Must be able to work on multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision
- Must have proficiency in developing and understanding One Line/Three Line Diagrams, DC Control Schematics, Wiring diagrams, GA drawings related to interconnections, substations, power plants and electrical aspects of process plants including but not limited to motors, MCCs, PDCs and other electrical equipment
- Must have experience with all phases of a project including preliminary conceptual system design, scoping, detailed design, equipment selection , equipment testing and start-up problem resolution
- Experience with protective relaying schemes (Medium Voltage) including coordination and development of relay settings
- SEL relays experience is highly preferred
- Proficiency in engineering software such as CAD/AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Powertools , SEL Acselerator , etc.
- Must have effective written and oral communication skills; must be able to analyze data, write technical reports, and develop work packages to implement
