Assist fee earners on files and all aspects of undefended court actions, including Simple Procedure, Summary Cause, and Ordinary Cause, to achieve effective and satisfactory outcomes for a range of clients, such as motor finance, debt purchase, utility, and corporate clients.
Support qualified associates with raising court actions, minuting for decree with accuracy, and pursuing money judgments and Return of Goods Orders.
Process tasks within the team’s joint workbox, ensuring court action, enforcement, and client correspondence are handled promptly.
Manage and respond to Time to Pay and Time Order Applications, handle incoming calls, take payments by phone, and negotiate payment plans per client instructions.
Process new business files in line with client requirements.
Instruct and manage trace reports and the enforcement of court decrees.
Perform in-house investigations, including property ownership checks, asset investigations, and insolvency checks.
Requirements
Essential BA in Scottish Law OR HNC in Legal studies OR equivalent qualification
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and legal professionals.
Desirable Familiarity with Scottish court procedures, including Simple Procedure, Summary Cause, and Ordinary Cause.
Proficiency in legal research, with the ability to interpret and apply legal principles.
