About the role

  • Merchandising Analyst analyzing sales trends and inventory optimization for 1-800 Contacts. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve business performance and drive merchandising KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Data and Analytics teams to establish clear, concise dashboards that track key merchandising metrics
  • Monitor sales performance and trends; identify opportunities and challenges and recommend actions to improve merchandising KPIs
  • Create and maintain detailed reports and dashboards to track KPIs related to sales, inventory, and demand planning
  • Analyze sales trends, historical data, and market conditions to develop accurate demand forecasts
  • Create SKU-level sales projections and work with Purchasing to establish and maintain in-stock % targets
  • Define, create, and update weekly inventory thresholds for programs
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet in-stock goals while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
  • Partner with the Director of Merchandising to establish an obsolete budget and manage frame inventory and sell-through
  • Create visibility into discontinued, slow-moving, or obsolete products and develop solutions for potential inventory risks
  • Assist in developing overarching pricing strategies based on demand, competition, and market conditions
  • Analyze pricing and gross margin; design and execute price tests to identify opportunities and optimize pricing
  • Partner with marketing, supply chain, and product development teams to align demand forecasts with marketing campaigns
  • Work with the merchandising team to curate and optimize the product assortment
  • Conduct purchase trend analysis for promotional sales periods and new product launches

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, and SQL
  • Experience in merchandising, demand planning, or inventory management, preferably in e-commerce or retail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of the eyewear industry or fashion retail is a plus.
