Lead Network Engineer at Digital Consultants managing LAN operations for clients across various federal and private sectors. Overseeing regional network staff and ensuring compliance with technical standards.
Responsibilities
Directs network engineers and technicians across Western Region sites in executing LAN projects, upgrades, and maintenance.
Coordinates with DLA J6, NTS-LAN, and other agencies on network design, procurement specifications, and equipment lifecycle planning.
Provides technical input on LAN architecture, performs lab testing of new equipment, and supports deployment of wired and wireless technologies.
Tracks tickets, projects, and special assignments in assigned region; monitors and reports progress to the Task Order Project Manager and Government POC.
Ensure LAN diagrams and documentation are current and reviewed annually.
Supports knowledge transfer, compliance with DoD/DLA cybersecurity standards, and local safety procedures (including Aerial Lift Training).
Requirements
Clearance: SECRET with a Tier 5/SSBI (Top Secret) Background Investigation (critical sensitive).
Certifications: DoD 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT Level I AND relevant vendor or technical certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Check Point CCSA/CCSE or Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years progressive LAN/Network Engineering experience, including two projects in technical task areas (one within the last 3 years).
Knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, INFOBLOX, and Ansible-based automation tools.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and teams across diverse locations.
Strong understanding of LAN architecture, switching, routing, and network protocols.
Experience leading LAN-related projects across distributed enterprise environments.
Knowledge of network compliance and cybersecurity requirements in DoD environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
